Rewind to the end of last season and a number of Leeds fans were worried that Marcelo Bielsa was going to leave the club after the Whites failed to be promoted to the Premier League.
In the end, Bielsa signed on to stay for another year, but there was seemingly a period of uncertainty as Adam Forshaw revealed that he believes everyone involved at Leeds was worried about the Argentine leaving.

Adam Forshaw was talking on BBC’s West Yorkshire Sport: Extra, and the show’s host asked him about the team’s mindset at the end of last season.
“When you weren’t promoted were you concerned that he wouldn’t be Leeds United manager this season?” was the question asked. Forshaw then responded:
“Slightly yeah, and I think everyone involved with the club was. Obviously he’s got an unbelievable CV, and someone with that experience and knowledge. Yeah I was thinking he was gonna go on and manage in the Premier League or somewhere else.”

This sort of mindset at Leeds shows just how fortunate the club are to have a manager of Bielsa’s calibre at the helm.
Not only that, but Forshaw’s comments show that the players know just how lucky they are to be playing under such an accomplished boss as he seems to be in awe of the Argentine’s CV and experience.
He’s managed both Argentina and Chile, while also coaching in some of Europe’s top five leagues. The very fact he’s now in the Championship says it all.
This insight is also interesting as it shows that Bielsa signing on for a second season wasn’t as straightforward as it may have seemed. Initially, it looked like there was little hesitation but with Forshaw stating those at the club were worried he’d depart, there must have still been big doubts.
