As reported by The Daily Star, Marco Silva has been handed just three matches to try and save his job, but the 42-year-old doesn’t deserve and should have been sacked during the international break.
What has been reported?
Everton are currently in the relegation zone on just seven points from eight games, scoring only six goals and conceding 13 along the way. It is no coincidence that as a result, Silva is under immense pressure as he is far away from Moshiri’s aims of achieving Champions League football.
The reports suggest that the former Watford boss feared he was set to lose his job on Merseyside over the international break but has been assured that his position is safe for the time being. The board have yet to conjure up a list of potential replacements which has ultimately given Silva three games to try and save himself from the axe.

In these three games, Everton host West Ham United, visit Brighton & Hove Albion and clash with Watford in the Carabao Cup at Goodison Park.
Three strikes and he’s out
It has become clear that Silva cannot slip up anymore, and he may have to win all three matches to save his job with the Toffees. As they are in the relegation zone, not doing that may not be enough, especially considering the third and final match of this deal comes in a must-win knockout League Cup fixture against Watford.
Within this time, Everton may not be favourites to beat top-six chasers West Ham and will be up against it for the trip to Brighton, with the Seagulls beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at the Amex before the international break.
Surely, the fortnight period without a game was the perfect opportunity to make the change, but it doesn’t appear as though that is going to happen.
Truthfully, Silva is extremely fortunate to still be at the helm. A similar situation occurred just two seasons ago when Ronald Koeman was sacked after the Blues dropped into the relegation zone. Therefore, it is surprising and undeserving, considering Farhad Moshiri’s previous aims to play in Europe.
With such a poor record and players underperforming across the pitch, there is not much hope that Silva could get better and change things for the future. There has also been little integration of youth, with Tom Davies seeing just 20 league minutes and Anthony Gordon still yet to play, after six goals in six games for the youth teams.
Considering the form of the Hammers and Brighton, it is difficult to see the Portuguese claiming six points out of the six available. Consequently, Moshiri should absolutely be considering a replacement very soon.
