The majority of West Brom fans that voted in our poll were keen to see the club make a move for free-agent Robert Huth to bolster Darren Moore’s options at the back.
Moore started the season with a back four but after the Baggies conceded six goals in their first three games, the 44-year-old boss deployed a three at the back formation in the Carabao Cup tie with Luton Town and the West Midlands side kept their first clean sheet of the campaign.
West Brom now sit in ninth place in the Premier League after Moore stuck with the tactic and the club’s fortunes improved, but if he persists with three centre-backs he may have to bring in reinforcements to offer the current squad members a rest.
Huth was released by Leicester during the summer as the Foxes signed three new centre-backs, including West Brom’s Jonny Evans but even as a 34-year-old, 68% of the West Brom fans who voted in our poll thought Huth, a three-time Premier League winner, could do a job for the Baggies.
